> Out senior editor Matthew Breen accepted an offer from Mika's camp to go to the singer's New York show on Friday, though with a bit of trepidation. Would he be eaten alive by an angry entourage? Here's his report:
His publicists said they loved the article. I thought I'd misheard. I was waiting to be ambushed, but no nets dropped from the ceiling. No Dr. Evil trigger-traps with chutes down to alligator pits. No "you’ll never work in this town again" steely gazes. They even bought me a cocktail. Howyalikemenow?
Mika's entire extended family filled one of the balconies. He has something like 5 brothers & sisters and they have many many kids. His granny was there, and lots and lots of older siblings and little kids -- cousins, nephews, nieces. Unusual. I'm told they go to all his major shows. All of them. How is that possible? It was over 50 people!
Michael Kors was also there, in the VIP balcony where we watched the show. He did a stiff little Michael Kors dance. The entire crowd was on fire. They were jumping and hooting and singing all the lyrics. It was very preppy, yet soooo gay. When the confetti cannon blasted at the end of the show, I think half the bridge & tunnel gays orgasmed.
> This Instinct magazine essay by Henry Rollins is good and smart and all that -- but it is also weirdly the least profane rant ever penned by a still-angry rocker who usually has no shortage of F-bombs to drop when discussing the screwed-up ways our country treats gays. Maybe there's a version with an explicit sticker slapped on it somewhere?

Hi, wanted to alert you to something very cool that Rollins is doing. He's offering a chance to sound off on an issue for a national audience -- and the one person he personally chooses will be flown to LA to co-host the “Henry Rollins Show” marathon on IFC (Independent Film Channel) with Henry.
Rollins is inviting you to tape a short video “rant” and the person who does the one he chooses will be flown to L.A. (the winner and a guest for 3 days/2 nights), meet Henry and host the upcoming “Rollins Show” Marathon.
Go to ziddio.com/myrollinsrant and record and upload a 30-second video “rant” on one of the 11 hot topics Henry has selected (including abortion rights, has the Iraq war made us safer? Bush’s response to Hurricane Katrina, is America a dumb country? global warming, etc.)
All entries will be watched by, and the winner chosen solely by, Henry. He encourages anyone to enter, no matter their political persuasion - his only requirement: have “passion and attitude!”
An amazing opportunity. And a chance to sound off on some issues!
Henry explains it all, and upload your “rant” at: ziddio.com/myrollinsrant
