Hey, it's Shana, taking a very brief break from the beach to say happy gay anniversary to Lance Bass. (Like I was gonna miss that just because I'm in total blissed out vacation mode!)
Lance has now been very publicly out for a full 365 days, which makes him roughly 17 or so in gay years, which means his current phase of sleeping around with as many hot models as possible is not just age appropriate but pretty awesome and amusing to watch, especially when it's being chronicled in the tabloids right alongside all the rest of young Hollywood.
Anyway, say what you will about his taste in men or musical theatre or publicity stunts, every single conversation I've had with people in the entertainment industry about gay actors or singers or celebrities has led someone (else) to bring up Lance, about how people reacted so positively to the People cover and how it has clearly only been good for his career since then.
So I say yay, thanks again for taking the plunge and being your out and proud self, and here's hoping in the long run it goes down as a tiny footnoted historical beginning of many more to come. Maybe instead of flowers I'll buy you the t-shirt I found in a tourist trap shop.
