> America will definitely have a female president next year. Openly lesbian actress Cherry Jones will portray President Allison Taylor, the nation’s first female president, on Fox techno-thriller 24. The Tony Award winning actress has also appeared on The West Wing and, in a scene stealer, in Ocean’s 12 as Matt Damon's grifter mom. "24" has made history with its Oval Office casting, with Dennis Haysbert playing President David Palmer, the nation's first black president. Jones' partner is Studio 60's Sarah Paulson. Cherry Jones is a great actress. Period. She shouldn't be defined as a lesbian actress in the way we don't say heterosexual actor Harrison Ford or heterosexual actress Nicole Kidman. Lets give Ms. Jones more credit.
Cherry Jones is openly lesbian and she's a wonderful actress.
