Denials & extremely unlikely gossip: Mel B, Jake G, Brad C

I told you it was going to be a slow news week! Today we have some of the most awesomely absurd gossip I've seen in a while.

> The Sunday Mirror says that Scary Spice -- aka Mel B -- had an affair with not one but two women at the same time. The paper doesn't seem to bother to even try for a denial on the record, but they do offer up porn plot level details about their supposed steamy affair. I'm just saying -- Mel is way too busy raising Eddie Murphy's baby to bother with this, and The Sunday Mirror is just about the least reliable source ever.

> Or, well... Wondering why I haven't weighed in on the rumor floating around about Jake Gyllenhaal? It's because Jonathan Jaxson makes Perez look like a Pulitzer Prize winner. That's all I have to say about that.

> Only slightly more interesting to me is that Bradley Cooper's publicist clearly deserves a raise. Over about three days he's been linked to Cameron Diaz and Jennifer Aniston.

Don't get me wrong -- I love some good gossip. But the key to this kind of gig is being a little (at least!) skeptical about anything too good or just too flat out weird to be true.
