Though I do plan to post highlights by phone from the Rufus Wainwright concert at the Hollywood Bowl this Sunday, I can't actually take you all with me.
My feeble attempt to make up for that involved e-mailing his people and begging for some presents to pass along. And it worked! Thanks Martha!
If by some reason you don't yet own his most recent CD, Release the Stars -- or you know someone who should but doesn't -- this is for you.
The first six Popnography readers to email me will get a copy of Release the Stars free! Be sure to include your name and address (or the name and address of your friend lucky to know someone with such good and generous taste).
OPTIONAL SHORT-RESPONSE QUESTIONS (choose one):
- Rufus wrote "Tulsa," he's said, about The Killers' Brandon Flowers. Which star should Rufus serenade next?
- Having now taken his Judy Garland show coast to coast, which classic songwriter or singer should Rufus next devote himself to covering?
Like I said, they're optional questions, but if you answer one or both in comments or by email, we'll post the best answers and send them up to the man himself!
