Rod did a killer wrap-up on Friday of all the ill-gotten gains of overdoing the testosterone -- Orlando crashes! Jude assaults? Kiefer books himself on a very special vacation! -- but here are a couple new-slash-old updates from the police blotter:
> The state of New York slapped American Idol's 19 Entertainment with a child labor law violation, saying the Idols Live! tour lacked special permits to employ Jordin Sparks and Sanjaya Malakar. The barely legal singers were both under 18 during four dates this summer. And they were busted by a fan!
[A] labor commission employee and a fan of the top-rated Fox show...heard the Idol tour was coming to New York and got curious.
Being well versed in Idol, the employee knew Sparks and Malakar were underage, and being well versed in child-labor law, the employee prompted a look-see into whether the tour had pulled the proper paperwork.
Ouch. Jordin doesn't turn 18 until December, but Sanjaya's now matured enough to pursue a career as a Bel Ami boy. Should that, you know, be one of his as-yet-unfulfilled childhood dreams. [Thanks Jessica]
> Michelle Rodriguez was sentenced to six months (!) in jail for violating probation on her DUI conviction. Reports People:
"[She] admitted violating her probation by failing to provide proof of completion of her community service and for consuming alcohol three times while wearing an alcohol-monitoring device," said the L.A. City Attorney's office in a statement.
She has to report to jail by December 24. (What is this, a made-for-TV movie? Christmas Eve, really? Who is going to swoop in and save her?)
> The curious case of the Vatican official suspended after a hidden camera investigation showed him possibly making advances and/or not condemning gays to hell is so ripe with the opportunity for mis-translation and misunderstanding that I barely know where to start. He also says (maybe) that he was just trying to save the guy from a "diabolical plan by groups of Satanists"!
> No charges filed yet but the new season of Project Runway is already under fire for allegedly booting an HIV-positive contestant. (If you'd rather stay unspoiled for who gets auf'd when, don't click that link!)
> Oh, and supposedly Britney's holding an open call for dancers today in LA. You can practice your best paparazzi walk, as they're sure to be camped out and checking out whether she's also accompanied by her new court-appointed monitor.
