What every 'mo should know about Semi-Home Made Cooking's Sandra Lee, according to my pal Philip:
1) She is upfront about her white trash upbringing and how it shaped her philosophy on cooking. Not everyone has time for yuppie shit, okay?
2) Her co-host in the infomercials for her first QVC product (Kurtain Kraft) was Florence Henderson.
3) She has an entire web magazine devoted to smoothie recipes.
4) She concentrates on crafting just as much as on cooking, in that gloriously midwestern way. I mean, honestly -- look at this Craft Cactus Party Planter.
5) Here's a brief introduction to her wonderful ways, and here she is dressed as Cher during an episode of her TV show:
And here she is opening her daily diet up to Out for inspection and evaluation by our designated nutritionist.
If that's not enough, I just learned that Out's editor in chief, Aaron Hicklin, is one of Sandy's favorite people in the whole world right now, and he'll be guesting on her show next month!

So, here are some additional things every 'mo should know:
1. I was surprised to see Sandra Lee in OUT, becuase I have seen her on the 700 Club before, so in my mind I took that information and added it to her Real Housewives of Orange County look and thought she was anti-gay. I was so thrilled to see her in OUT though, because I really love her show and was so happy to see that she is a friend of the community. Not too many people can be in a PlanetOut publication as well as The 700 Club, I can only think of Howard Dean and Harriet Hayes (from Studio 60).
2. I heart Semi-Homemade Meals mainly because Sandra Lee makes everything in her kitchen match her outfit and her meal. For example, if she is making a lemon dessert, her entire kitchen will be accented in yellow and she will wear a yellow outfit. I appreciate the attention to detail.
Out should definitely continue to explore the complete gayness of the Food Network--it gives Bravo some competition in gay sensibility.

So happy the rest of US, are finding out about her. Her ideas are perfect for any Mo who works a 16 hour day, never misses LAT day at the gym and still needs to put a meal on the table every night.
And to heighten the mo appreciation factor, you'd be insane not to check out west village resident Tyler Florence. He's so thorough in eplaining why things should be the way they are; he makes the most satisfying and beautiful meals accessible.

I got sucked into one of her shows
because it actually looked like I’d
learn to make a killer new party drink
AND save time cooking new crap.
The other comments are right on:
If you think she is one of those “Orange
County” Housewives, look again.
Surprisingly she rocks it hard and we
shouldn’t let looks deceive us so…
Did anyone see her flirting with Ellen
D. and getting her all giddy and drunk
the other day?
