I can't actually remember the last Grammy Awards broadcast that had one moment worth remembering, let alone this many. (Oh wait, a year with one: Ricky Martin rocks the house.)
> Tina fucking Turner. She's 68. She wore skintight silver lame. You could see her nipples. She looked amazing. And Beyonce managed to keep up with her for "Proud Mary," which made more than one person at my house proclaim this the best Grammys ever. Tina Turner, people.
> Kanye West proved real mamas' boys cry on national television. Oh, and that what his album's always been missing is a little Daft Punk. And a glow-in-the-dark orchestra. And calling out the producers to shut the orchestra down when he was trying to thank his late mother again. And being a good sport (maybe) when seemingly everyone made fun of him from the stage.
> Amy Winehouse, who was as terrifying to watch perform as she was thrilling, especially in her last moment of defiantly stepping away from the mic as she finished the song. And her stunned, shocked look upon winning.
> From my designated Prince correspondent: "Mostly missing since their post-Purple Rain break-up, it was great to see Prince-created The Time together with original members (uber producers and Janet Jackson sound architects) Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis for the first time in 18 years. Who knew Jimmy Jam is the President of the Grammys?" Um, plus there was Rihanna, who continues to rock a Who's That Girl look with her self-described boyish haircut like nobody's business. And she put Jay-Z in his place during her acceptance speech.
> Carrie Underwood did Nancy Sinatra proud with her Stomp-esque big boots ass-kicking stair-climbing revenge fantasy.
> Apparently if you need something, anything remixed, you should call Will.i.am.
> Cyndi Lauper can do well, anything. But let's be charitable and say Miley Cyrus has a long way to go, and if she really wants to be more rock'n'roll she needs to stop saying the three men in her life are Jesus, her brother (more on him later this week) and her dad.
> Jason Bateman should host everything. And when in doubt, let Tom Hanks present.
More photos of our favorite moments after the jump...

I totally agree. I remember looking at the clock 40 minutes into the show and saying, "Oh my God, I'm not bored yet!"

It really was a good Grammys! And I realized today, it had something for a lot of generations, and pulled off the whole "multigenerational" thing without being obvious or cloying. My 60-something co-worker talked to me today about seeing Tina back in the day...then asked me if I had "Feist" and would I burn it for her.
