In the next three months, the nation's most populous state (that would be California) will decide whether to honor the marriages performed in San Francisco in 2004 -- or, well, direct the legislature to come up with some other creative plan. (They could also, of course, nix any arrangement stronger than the state's strong domestic partnerships.)
You can bet that in a year when all 54 of California's electoral votes are the most popular kid at the prom anyone running for just about anything is going to have an opinion on the case.
