> It seems someone was a little too willing to help Ellen DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi prepare for their upcoming nuptials. A conman set up a fake gift registry at Crate & Barrel on behalf of the celebrity couple in hopes of receiving gifts from unwitting fans. Ellen's warning:
"I was joking when I released a statement saying we registered at Crate & Barrel. Some scam artist tried to take advantage of that and register and said the gifts are going to be sent to me and some people started already buying gifts... and sending (them to) this person."
The couple also want fans to know they don't want any gifts. But if you feel the need to buy someone something, we're certainly game: our shoe size is 10 and please -- nothing pleated or sleeveless.
> The National Enquirer says the reason that Jodie Foster and her partner of 14 years Cydney Bernard have split is that Foster was having an affair with movie producer Cindy Mort. According to their source:
"Although she and Cydney remain under the same roof at the moment, the relationship has been shattered. They'll continue to raise the boys together and try to keep a loving family unit despite their breakup. The love is gone."
The relationship has been shattered? The love is gone? Can we really trust a source who speaks in soundbites straight out of Lifetime movie of the week trailers? Mort was a writer on Jodie's film The Brave One (IMDB her pro name, Cynthia, for best results), has two kids with thirtysomething's Melanie Mayron and, irony of ironies, was also a scribe on HBO's marriages-all-suck drama Tell Me You Love Me. And for whatever it's worth, we heard this exact same rumor last week from a reliable source.
> Beyonce revealed to OK magazine that she is too famous to go to church. The singer claims she is unable to enjoy the proceedings without being mobbed by fans demanding autographs and pictures. She says, "I think God understands if I miss Sunday service!" But just in case -- it's probably a good idea to keep buttering up the big Guy upstairs by continuing to publicly thank Him for your Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards.
