Riding the avalanche of Sex and the City gossip

With Sex and the City's leap to the big screen only two weeks away, the avalanche of SATC gossip continues to grow, threatening to take out any innocent bystanders who don't have the full 16 hours it would surely take to get caught up on who's been doing what and saying what and showing up where, etc. etc., etc.

So, we whittled it all down to a few not-so-intimidating tidbits that will get you updated on a few fun Sex and the City movie related deets without feeling like you need to be rescued by a big shaggy St. Bernard with a barrel of whiskey around his neck -- or a big shaggy bear with a barrel chest (you choose.)

>  Kim Katrell's mother, Shane, loves her daughter's nude scenes in the upcoming film. She tells ContactMusic.com, "Kim is a role model for 50-something women. Much has been made about her nudity in the film, but I think she looks fabulous." The 79-year-old added, "Anyone who knocks that is jealous. All this fuss about a bit of nudity is ridiculous."

> LoveHoney has launched a brand new vibrator in honor of the SATC flick. The company -- which is also celebrating the 10 year anniversary of the Rabbit vibrator made famous in an early episode of the HBO series -- has dubbed the new sex toy "Mr. Big" and promises it's "bound to please with powerful vibrations and long rabbit ears."

> Feeling a bit nostalgic? You'll be able to catch Sarah Jessica Parker in the series that marked her television debut, Square Pegs, coming to DVD on May 20th. The show -- about two nerdy freshmen girls who long to be popular -- only lasted a season, but trust us -- it's worth checking out -- even if just to see the humble beginnings of the woman who would become Carrie Bradshaw.

> The Los Angeles Times asks whether enough women are going to see SATC to really do big box office business. Wait, this movie is supposed to be for women?

> The Four Seasons Hotel in New York City is offering a "It's Not All About Sex and the City" package so that any guys not swept up in the SATC movie phenomenon can keep themselves occupied. Among the offerings are:

— One round of "anything but Cosmos" in The Bar
— Steak Dinner in 57 Restaurant
— Complimentary DVD library featuring Rambo, Die Hard and Full Metal Jacket
— "Clog Your Arteries" breakfast the following morning in the guestroom
— Double-bedded accommodations [apparently so that you don't have to share a bed with your buddy -- though after a round of those "anything but Cosmos" who knows what might happen]

The package costs $2,000 and is available from May 30st to August 31st 2008. But we're guessing if you're reading Popnography you probably have better -- and gayer -- things to spend that kind of $$ on. Like the "Mr. Big" vibrator, for instance.
