We see all in Kylie's new video

While out in a gay club in Chicago this weekend, I ended up zoning out of a conversation because the new Kylie Minogue video came on the multiple large screens around me. The "Justify My Love" look of "All I See" caught my attention, but what kept me transfixed was the shot of a slinky man dancing shirtless, showing off his ... chest surgery scars? OMG, Kylie cast an FTM in her video!?! I didn't know it was possible to love her more!

Upon further inspection, it became clear it was tattooed script along the bottom of his chest pics, in the exact location where many FTMs have surgery scars. I was still convinced he got the tattoos to cover the scars. All of his ink in general -- hipster stars, kanji characters, bluebirds -- I could name half a dozen other transmen in Chicago alone who have these same design themes on their body.   

My friend Mickey found the guy's MySpace page for me and I made my way through several photos to further investigate my theory.  In several of them, TattooModel (aka Marco DaSilva) is also sporting a chin-strap beard, or as I like to call it, "trannyboy beard," as dozens, if not hundreds of transmen I have come across (myself included) have grown this beard during some stage of hormonal transition. 

Marco's orientation is listed as "not sure," his favorite movie Brokeback Mountain, and nowhere in his profile does it clarify that he's NOT trans. So I will continue to maintain my fantasy, both of Kylie's forward thinking in casting her dancers, and of Marco's desire for brotherly love from me to help figure out what orientation might suit him best.

You're a fool. Marco Da Silva is Gay! He has a hot boyfriend and its not a secret. He does not have a "tranny beard". He is an amazing specimen so quit trying to project your bullshit on him.

I'm a gay man and I have lots of tranny friends but if someone ever started announcing that I was FTM when I am not... I'd be pissed. Just like most FTM's get upset when they are called women or the other way for MTF. As a member of the community you should through out speculations like that. You should know better.

I find it deeply sad, actually, that someone has only seen trans used as an insulting epithet, and therefore can't conceive that "Gay," trans, and "fine specimen" may coexist.

Um, that is not the same thing at all. First off, A. Raymond is not "announcing" anything. He was tongue-in-cheekly wondering. And secondly, your comparison doesn't work because both trans men and non-trans men are dudes, but calling a trans man a woman is *not* calling him a dude.

ps: don't play the "i have trans friends" card. that's just tacky and it doesn't lend any authority to what you are saying.

Wow. Can we get any more ridiculous people commenting here? I did not say that that calling him trans was an insult. It is however incorrect so seeding rumours based upon your own fantasies makes you a gossipy old hen. And don't play the "snatchy, dried up, self-important and no doubt crusty old mare" card.

Whether or not dude is trans in real life has no impact on whether Raymond should or shouldn't blog about the transman like qualities that Marco possesses. Raymond's just doing what people do -- speculating. He didn't "project" anything, just gave a solid commentary on an observation. I thought my Weather professor was a transman for a good 2 months because he didn't have an adam's apple, had a pretty gender ambiguous face, and had more pronounced hips than most male-born men I know. He's not trans, but that doesn't mean anything, I'm free to speculate just as Raymond is and our curiosity is what makes us human. Also, what does Marco being gay have to do with whether he could be trans? To my knowledge, nothing about those two things is mutually exclusive.

Then again, this discussion has sverved into something I quite regurlarly read on Microsoft vs Apple fanboys comments. Off-topic discussion on something that is generally agreed upon and just trying to belittle the other commenter for no reason.
