Our pals over at the Advocate must have been watching (and re-watching, and re-watching) the previews for this summer's X-Files movie as much as we have. They talked to David Duchovny -- that's Agent Fox Mulder to you -- about his many queer-ish roles (man-crushes on Larry Sanders, panty-hose wearing in Twin Peaks) and how he's teaching his daughter about big gay love:
I had a "gay birds and the bees" conversation with her when we watched Rent together. She saw the two girls that have the love affair, and I said to her, "See, what's going on there is those two girls want to be married. They want to be like mom and dad. Some boys want to be with boys, and some girls want to be with girls. What do you think of that?" She said, "I don't care." I said, "I think that's beautiful. I hope you always don’t care."
And then in Entertainment Weekly's issue listing "the new classics" -- XF comes in at #4 -- 10th-ranked Buffy, aka Sarah Michelle Gellar, names the top 10 male characters she wishes she could play, including Duchovny's Hank Moody on Californication. "If I was a man," she writes, "I'd want to make out with as many hot chicks as [he] gets to make out with."
Sweetie, nothing is stopping you now from making that Cruel Intentions lip-lock a way of life. They gave you an MTV Movie Award for it and everything, so obviously you have some kind of natural inclination!
