How NPH became Lord of the Geeks

Is it possible Neil Patrick Harris is nothing short of the ascendant king of geekery?

At the Television Critics Association confab last week -- even with a brand new Emmy nom under his belt -- all anyone wanted to talk about was his starring role in Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog. (You can download all three parts of Joss Whedon's online musical mini-series at iTunes.) "I got an e-mail from Joss that said, 'Gang, we broke the Internet.' That's all it said. Which is awesome," Harris told Chicago Tribune TV critic Maureen Ryan.

And on the eve of Comic-Con (where fans hope he'll show for a Dr. Horrible screening Friday night), Sesame Street coughed up his full appearance on this season's show -- as the "shoe fairy."
