Ever since we learned that Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi pulled off the first sneak attack celebrity gay wedding this past weekend, the Popnog staff has been impatiently twiddling our ... thumbs waiting to see some sappy photos and learn all the intimate deets about the gay affair.
Thank goodness for People magazine (who ever thought we'd be uttering that phrase with any seriousness?), whose next issue will feature the freshly wedded couple on the cover and offers an exclusive inside look at the ceremony, the reception, and everything else that shook down at the DeGeneres-de Rossi home on Saturday.
While the issue hasn't hit the stands yet, People.com has a preview:
Amid candles and flowers by Mark's Garden, both brides, wearing designs by Zac Posen, sat on floor pillows along with author Wayne Dyer, who officiated the ceremony.
After exchanging Neil Lane rings, the couple and their guests sat down for an all-vegan menu prepared by their personal chef David Silberkleit while Sweet Lady Jane created a vegan red velvet cake for the celebration.
We're not sure we can get on board with the floor pillows, but we couldn't be happier to read de Rossi is quoted as saying, "The love we felt from the people surrounding us, and the love we have for each other, made this the most beautiful and emotional day. And one that we'll never forget." Because as much as we're all about getting the juicy and -- let's face it -- totally trivial dirt, it's nice to be reminded of what marriage, gay or otherwise, is really all about.
Pick up your copy of People or tune into The Ellen DeGeneres Show when its sixth season starts on September 8 -- Ellen promises she'll be airing more photos and video footage from the wedding. Awwww.
