> If Christian Bale had it his way, next time around Batman would be brandishing a bat boner. "I do think there is room for an 18-rated 'Batman,'" he says. "It's a little bit
tricky to broach the sex aspect of the story when you want kids to come
see it as well. I mean, I think it would be very interesting to do a 12
version and an 18 version - two different cuts." Don't worry about the kids, Christian, they're spoiled enough as it is. Your time would be much better utilized bench pressing in anticipation of your upcoming whips and latex drenched full frontal sex scene with Maggie Gyllenhaal's Catwoman.
> Speaking of X-rated, Kevin Smith's new film Zack and Miri Make a Porno was given an NC-17 rating by MPAA because of "some graphic sexuality." Seth Rogan, who stars in the film with Elizabeth Banks, said the reasoning behind the rating is "a mystery" to him, though it might be because of the word "porno" in the title. "We live in a world where you can disembowel someone in a youth hostel in Romania, but you can't show people having sex," he said. Sad, isn't it? So we guess there's only one thing to be done: change the title to "Zack and Miri Make a Teenage Torture Porn" and you'll get a R-rating, a box office smash and at least two guaranteed sequels.
> Even if you aren't the biggest show-mo on the planet, you've probably heard that Rent is closing on Broadway. The groundbreaking musical about love, loss, AIDS, and living in artistic squalor in '90s New York began in 1996, spawned a movie adaptation in 2005, and has starred, at one time or another, Neil Patrick Harris, Jai Rodriguez, and Wilson Cruz. To mark the ending of the Rent era (at least for now), Broadway.com and JetBlue are sponsoring the "Ultimate Rent Fan Contest." Just shoot a video explaining why you're the ultimate Rent fan and you could win a trip for two to New York to attend the final performance. However, the site reminds you that "Broadway.com is a family site –- abusive or inappropriate content, no matter how bohemian, will be taken out of the running." Seth Rogan and Christian Bale are going to be so bummed. But hey -- that's already two less people you have to compete with.
