Surrogacy is totally the new gay

...and Ricky Martin -- who announced not so long ago his intentions to adopt children -- just doubled down, announcing he's had not one but two kids:

"The children, delivered via gestational surrogacy, are healthy and already under Ricky's full-time care," the statement read.

"Ricky is elated to begin this new chapter in his life as a parent and will be spending the remainder of the year out of the public spotlight in order to spend time with his children."

And my favorite part of this is that finally even Us Weekly is at least willing to admit there's a question of whether Ricky Martin isn't straight:

Over the years, Martin has refused to confirm or deny rumors that he's gay.

"I think that sexuality is something that each individual should deal with in their own way," he told Barbara Walters in 2005. "And that's all I have to say about that."

I never thought I would say this, but thank you, Clay Aiken, for starting such an important trend. Maybe you do deserve some parent of the year award after all!
