In this current age of relentless viral marketing, it seems are inboxes are regularly being filled with links to cutesy but uninspiring YouTube clips and we're constantly being inundated with IM's about videos we just have! to! see! Disappointingly, we're usually less than impressed. Still, once in a while we happen upon something that we love so much we just can't keep it to ourselves.
Today that something is the new promo video for Diesel's XXX anniversary party which will simultaneously take place in 17 cities around the world on October 11 and will feature musical performances by some of our favorite artists, including Sam Sparro (pictured above) in Tokyo, Amanda Lepore in Copenhagen, Patrick Wolf in London, and M.I.A. in New York. Tickets for each of the parties will go on sale soon, but in the meantime, click here to check out the aforementioned XXX SFW promo clip, as even for us it's a bit too racy to embed directly into this post.
The video gets its inspiration from the SFWporn series which takes vintage adult film stills and sanitizes the raunchy images by outfitting them with zany, colorful cartoon clothing and props. We think the clip is pure genius -- and we don't use that word all that often or all that lightly. What's more, we're willing to bet you'll never look at a cob of corn or a pay phone coin return slot the same way ever again.
(Note: While the clip claims to be Safe For Work, we're pretty sure most of the middle managers we've met wouldn't be too keen on you firing this up on your PC. So either close the door to your office, or if you're stuck in a cubicle, wait until you're safe in the confines of your own home.)
