Calling all show-mos and/or fans of the 1950 classic All About Eve:
As a benefit for the Actors Fund, the Eugene O'Neill theater is doing a staged reading of the amazing movie-about-theater-vs-movies, with Annette Bening in the Bette Davis role of aging actress Margo Channing and Peter Gallagher as her director boyfriend, Bill. Plus Angela Lansbury as Birdie and Cynthia Nixon and Mad Men's John Slattery as Margo and Bill's BFFs, Karen and Lloyd. Brian Bedford plays (uber-gay) critic Addison DeWitt.
The only remaining question is who will play the immortal, conniving Eve Harrington? My current dream casting would be Anne Hathaway, I think, but I would love to hear who you'd sign up.
Tickets for the November 10 show are a tad pricey -- it's a fundraiser, people, and for a good cause -- and can be found at actorsfund.org.
