When designer Tom Ford spoke with Out magazine last November -- after spending a few hours being photographed au natural while towel snappin' two very hot male models' hinies in a communal shower -- he revealed that he hoped to venture into the movie making business. He wouldn't go into too much detail for fear of "jinxing" the project saying, "God knows it may never get made, and someone will write in [the New York Post’s] Page Six, 'Tom Ford’s movie career fails..."
Apparently his superstitious ways have paid off. Ford's directorial debut A Single Man -- an adaptation of the Christopher Isherwood novel of the same name -- will begin shooting on Monday. As rumored earlier this fall, A Single Man -- about a British college professor who loses his partner of 16 years -- will star Colin Firth, Julianne Moore, and Matthew Goode.
The film is being independently financed (Ford's Fade to Black is among the production companies), according to a press release issued today, with foreign sales being handled at IM Global. We're confident with Ford helming the film and Firth, Moore, and Goode on board, buying distribution rights would be a solid investment opportunity you couldn't go wrong with -- that is, if you have any income left after paying for gas and groceries.

The film sounds good, and I should go check on the book too.
I'll look forward to seeing it when it comes out.
