We are proud to present the cover of this year's Out 100 special double issue.
In the spirit of celebration you'll forgive us for not stopping at 100: Our special awardees, both gay and straight, include Gus Van Sant (far left, above) for his thrilling new cinema paean to our first high-profile out elected official; Dean and Dan Caten for Dsquared2, for their forward-looking menswear; Cheyenne Jackson (far right) for his stereotype-breaking performances; Katy Perry (seated) for her unfiltered ode to sexual experimentation; Bishop Gene Robinson for leading the fight for equality in our houses of worship; and Sam Sparro (seated), an exciting new musician who never considered the closet as an option.
Go to Out.com to see our cover stars' solo photos from inside the magazine, watch behind the scenes videos from the shoots and be sure to check our Out 100 blog for more coverage leading up to Friday night's gala event in New York.

I really hope that you included Cyndi Lauper on the OUT 100 Cover- Her True Colors Tour this year was absolutely amazing! It would be pretty unfair if she is not included on your magazine!

On the heels of the Proposition 8 loss I see a cover dominated by young, wealthy, white people. Hmmm. Wonder why we did so poorly in the people of color communities and with older Americans? It wouldn 't have something to do with the obsession with white youth and wealth would it? Food for thought....

Katy Perry's lyrics are homophobic. She has contributed as much as anyone to the popularity of the pejorative use of the word "gay." And the girl-kissing song is not progressive. She does not deserve a place of honor on the cover of a gay magazine.

It's Out's fault that Prop8 was passed? Oh get a grip, Kewpie Doll.
