> While Starbucks, Krispy Kreme and other fast food franchises were handing out free calorie-laden treats on Election Day, Babeland (formally Toys in Babeland) was providing a way to burn those calories -- complimentary vibrators!
The upscale sex toy chain -- with stores on both coasts -- originally planned to give away 50 - 100 toys per shop (around 1,000 total) but ended up distributing 4,114. Babeland co-founded Claire Cavanah told MediaBistro.com, "Our customers just really wanted to tell someone that they voted, they were so happy about it. They wanted a witness to their participation in a historic, momentous day, and to connect with others who felt the same way." Plus they probably wanted something special -- and a few extra inches -- to help celebrate the fact that we finally have a smokin' hot couple in the White House.
> In other sex toy news (now there's a phrase we wish we had the chance to type more often), Dave Stewart, formerly of Eurythmics, has joined forces with design-centric sexual luxury brand Jimmyjane to create the Rock Fabulous Vibrator, a special edition of the iconic LITTLE SOMETHING sex toy. As if that wasn't enough to get your blood (and other parts) pumping, Stewart wrote a song called "Let's Do It Again," about -- you guessed it -- the intimate device. You can see a snippet of the video for the track below and find more about this saucy partnership at Jimmyjane.com.
