She plays a vicious bridezilla in a scary looking chick flick, but it turns out Anne Hathaway's pretty fierce in real life, too. In between collecting a series of awards this week, she used her red-carpet limelight to call out Obama on his poor choice of an inauguration speaker. "I expect him to explain that choice of Rick Warren," she said on Tuesday at the Palm Springs Film Festival. Today she elaborates on her protest plans: "My older brother is gay, and so
it's a family issue for me. My father is coming with me to the
Inauguration. At first we discussed not going, and then we thought we’d
just turn our backs when he [Warren] speaks. But we didn’t want to be
disrespectful. So we’re going to wear ribbons protesting his
appearance.”
