The sixth and final season of the L Word premieres Sunday night at 9 pm Eastern on Showtime and God only knows what sapphic plot twists, travesties, and wonders await us this time around. To celebrate (and mourn) the end of the L era we are:
> Suggesting you head over to JoinShowtime.com to refresh and/or beef up your L Word knowledge by checking out video clips from season five and exclusive trailers for season six.
> Taking a trip down memory lane over at Out.com where we're recapping the most memorable guest spots from the past five seasons, from the divinely dykey to the downright shameful.
> Inviting you to leave a comment telling us your favorite L Word moment for the chance to win a fabulous prize pack featuring The L Word Season Five DVD, an L Word Trucker Hat, and an L Word Wine Bottle Charm courtesy of our friends over at Showtime. Wednesday we'll randomly select two winners from all the entries, so be sure to leave your email when you comment so we can contact you should you be chosen.
> Looking forward to the L Word spin-off recently announced. Fox News (an ironic source for this story if we've ever come across one) reports the show revolves around Alice Pieszecki (played by Leisha Hailey), who lands in prison for murder. Famke Janssen ("Nip/Tuck") guest stars in the first episode, along with Melissa Leo ("Frozen River") and Laurie Metcalf ("Roseanne") who appear as prison guards. "It's not all lesbians like 'The L Word,'" Showtime's president Bob Greenblatt said. "It is more of a sort of mixed group of female characters, some of whom are lesbians.
Hey -- until we're ruling the world and can have as many shows as we want featuring only lesbians (and lots and lots and lots of them), we'll take what we can get.

I have many favourite L word moments but there is one that stayed with me because it always puts a smile on my face...was during season 4 when all the girls are on the phone at the same time, i thought that scene was hilarious!!!

[French Fan of the L word, forgive my bad english]
As Alex, I have so many favourite moments. But I think the strongest for me was in the 3rd season, when Dana died. It was so powerful, as if all the girls were linked around this events, with the time running out on the screen. Even if it is actually so sad, for me it was the highest point of the L word's drama.
But I also remember the hilarious moments, as the operation including Shane in order to know wether or not Lara is lesbian, or the another commando operation to steal the panel for Bette.
I hope we'll gonna get soon the fifth season in France. And I feel so sad to leave all of these girls after 8 episodes. For me, L word was the lesbian reference and helped me to see a few things about homosexuality that revealed me. So thanks Ilene, thanks Lez Girls. But in other hand, I'm very excited about the idea to see a spin-off and a movie =D.

My favourite moment is in season 5 episode 6 - the love scene between Bette and Tina! In context it was so wrong, but so right as well! It was shot so well, and was a fabulous emotional journey!! Love it, and it reminded me of why I will miss the show so much!
