While Grey's Anatomy was busy giving their prized dyke the boot, All My Children decided to turn up the W4W heat by bringing back Emmy winner Eden Riegel to reprise her popular and groundbreaking role as Ericka Kane's lesbian daughter, Bianca Montgomery.
Even better -- Bianca has a hot Parisian fiancee, Reese Williams, played by Tamara Braun. And -- if a gay wedding on All My Children wasn't crazy enough, Bianca just gave birth to a baby! And there was a tornado! And Bianca's sister landed in a coma! This is why we love soap operas -- there's even more drama than at the Out offices (and believe us -- that's a lot of drama).
Out.com's Nelson Branco met up with Eden and Tamara to get the scoop on their sizzling sex scenes, whether or not daytime TV was ready for two women to walk down the aisle, and if they worried they'd fall victim to the same kissing ban that Noah and Luke faced on As The World Turns:
Out: As you know, earlier this year As The World Turns reportedly banned its gay super couple, Luke and Noah from kissing due to pressure from certain political and religious groups. Will Rianca swap a lot of spit on-screen?
Eden Riegel: There is plenty of kissing, I promise!
Tamara Braun: There is no lack of affection here.
ER: It’s a demonstrative [love]. Having played Bianca for a long time, I will say this is the most demonstrative relationship she’s been in because Binks is in a committed romance for once. So, there’s no holding back in the physical realm. We’ve never been told to hold back. ABC is allowing us to trust our instincts.
TB: These characters are in love, and people in love show affection. Eden told me in the past each time she had to kiss someone in scene it was a big deal, which I wasn’t aware of. When she told me that, every time there was a kiss it was a big event.
ER: It had to be scripted, and it had to be cleared. It was a different time.
TB: I was shocked. I don’t know if I could have played Reese back then with those restrictions.

Thanks for covering one of the only LGBT plots on tv these days (AMC, ATWT, and, what, Grey's when they feel like it).
Not only are Binxs and Reese making for wonderful soapy angst with the love story but the actors have great chemistry which is fully realized ON CAMERA! When you add to that the fact they aren't being treated any different from the rest of the characters on the show (lies, secrets, misunderstandings, kissing, and angst) it's a long way from the game playing that ABC made the show do with Bianca and Maggie and Lena only a few years ago.
I am enjoying seeing Bianca's Kane DNA come out as well as her baggage from past romantic disappointments start to effect things with Reese. The character development of Reese has been well handled (and wonderfully complicated). When you ignore the baby thing and forgive the speed of their coupling it's must see daytime especially with these two talented ladies in the roles.
I wish the daytime genre would pay more attention to the LGBT and friendly audience and the ratings impact they could make. Bianca and the Luke/Noah story should show there is an audience for this kind of inclusive story telling. With a few well developed plots, that spoke to LGBT and friendly audiences, soaps could get the bump they need.
Do you hear that Guiding Light?!?!?

Eden and Tamara are amazing to watch...so very talented. They make me forget I'm watching daytime. Their chemistry is beautiful and Rianca's love is evident. I watch the show only to see them. Please have them stay.
