Hummer: Lady GaGa's acoustic version of "Poker Face"

Can't get enough Lady GaGa? Me, neither. Not only was her debut album The Fame near the top of my list of favorite albums of 2008, but the last time I checked my iTunes play count, I'd played "Poker Face" 184 times. And that's not even taking into account how many times it came streaming out of my iPod headphones as I strutted my way to the first bar of the night every weekend this past fall.

Now the classically trained pop star who's storming the charts (she's currently #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 with "Just Dance") and the dance clubs has released an acoustic version of my favorite track and it has all the boys at Out (even our snooty music editor, Jason) going gaga for GaGa all over again.

Perched at a piano in a very un-GaGa room at Cherry Tree Records (other than her outfit and the promo shots of her strewn about there's nary a sequin or wig in sight!) she transforms "Poker Face" from it's former glory as a slinky dance track into a campy, burlesque sing-along. Purring, growling, and chirping her way through the song she mugs for the camera and proves herself to be even more charming and irresistible than previously thought possible (which in and of itself doesn't seem possible -- but it is!). And for those out there who were quick to dismiss her as merely another Pro Tools puppet, GaGa's voice is front and center and spectacular.

As our fashion assistant Brent said, "Forget about Madonna and her Re-Invention tour. Give us the Lady GaGa and An Upright Piano tour."
