The fight for Hillary Clinton's Senate seat continues to rage. Whether they've served as treasurer for their junior high student council or just have a few really impassioned ideas about street sweeping, it appears any and everyone feels confident they're qualified to take over where Hill started, including Rosie O'Donnell's brother, Assemblyman Daniel J. O'Donnell.
A Democrat who represents NYC's Upper West Side, O'Donnell interviewed with Governor David A. Patterson earlier this week in hopes of nabbing the coveted appointment also sought by Caroline Kennedy, New York attorney general Andrew Cuomo, and The Nanny's Fran Drescher. Assemblyman O'Donnell, a fervent gay rights activist, told the New York Times that he believes his chances were close to 1 in 10, "“about the same as the population of gay people in the world.” (Nice little plug there, Danny!)
O'Donnell said they he and Governor Patterson didn't discuss any one else vying for the seat, but referring to the virtual clown car of candidates in the running, remarked, "There was no one in the waiting room, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t other patients.” Let's just hope whoever is appointed has a clean bill of mental health.
Previously > Fran Drescher for Senate!
