Apparently in NYC when it's too early for a gin and tonic at Splash and too late for a bloody mary at Ate Avenue, the gay population invades Central Park. And oh what a sight it is.
Complete with wine spritzers, a neon pink frisbee and a total lack of food to wash down the booze, Sheep's Meadow is a gay man's haven. Akin to an Arena Entertainment box set, the grassy knoll was surrounded by bears, twinks, and a handful of straight frat boys turning from their girlfriends to catch a peak of skimpy speedos. While the borders of the park featured family gatherings and heterosexual couples on an afternoon date, the center of the field was nothing but gay men and their perfectly waxed chests.
While the sun set and other picnics traded snacks for mid-afternoon card games, the jovial men of Sheep's Meadow evacuated Central Park in search of a nap and sexual gratification. So take out your Iphone or Blackberry and write yourself a reminder: 67th Street entrance of Central Park each and every Saturday of the summer. I doubt it will ever be a blase time.

straight people dont pull their pants down and act like they are screwing. Gay people are disgusting and have no respect for anyone around them.

BZZZ, Wrong answer! My boyfriend and I were walking home through our local park...we had to take the long way home because a dirty straight couple was copulating in the park! She was on him lap dancer style on a park bench! So much for gay people having no respect!!! We were freaked out!!!! At least these gay people were acting!!!!

No, straight people would never do that. They just shove a pair of tits in our faces to sell everything from toothpaste to cars.

Granted these are "kids" and they're out to have a good time but behavior like this - meant to be silly or not - is inappropriate in a public park where there are children present.
And OUT is only doing us a disservice by documenting it and choosing these shots as indicative of what one can expect of the gay community at large in CP.
I've seen and been part of plenty of fun gay (and straight) crowds in Sheep's Meadow who conduct themselves with a bit more class and maturity and can say that this is NOT typical (or appropriate) behavior of anyone - gay or straight.

Straight people are just as ramboncious and wild, if anything they are more so than gays because they don't have anyone holding them back oppressing them. there's only so many gays per population and not all of us are alike, no sir we are not.

oh grow up. They were obviously posing for the camera. And if I hear one more "think about the children" type statement, I am going to scream. The "children" are so inundated with violent & sexual imagery in their whole lives, that a little campy action is not going to faze them in the slightest.
