This is, without a doubt, the funniest thing I've seen all year. You're probably thinking, "Yeah, yeah, whatever," but really. Seriously. This. Is. The. Funniest. Thing. I've. Seen. All. Year. And after seeing it -- and howling and swatting away the big plashy tears that were rolling down my cheeks from laughing so hard I thought I might throw up -- I wondered:
- 1) Who knew the video for this song was so f-in' cracked out? I mean, yes -- people did a lot of drugs in the '80s -- but really? REALLY??; and
- 2) Why have I NEVER seen the video for "Total Eclipse Of The Heart" before now? I certainly remember hearing it in my YMCA gymnastics class when I was five (for the record: I sucked. Anytime we were supposed to do anything more complicated than a somersault I just rolled around and dramatically fluttered my hands thinking no one would notice I wasn't doing what I was supposed to).
Regardless, watch. And then watch again. And then send it to your friends. And then watch again. Just like Showgirls, it only gets better every time you see it.

This. Is. Genius.
My fave part... "The gayest man on earth would call this over the top!"

This started out kind of funny, but by mid way it started to get a little boring, and the humor became a little forced. The dialogue section was pretty lame. Plus, couldn't they at least get better quality vocals? I have loved the over-the-top feel of the original video since I first saw it on MTV (they played music videos then)and in the conservative climate of the time, the incredibly overt homoeroticism was just wonderful. The memory of this video faded until I saw Kiki & Herb perform the song in 2001, but didn't fully resurface in my mind until their Carnegie Hall ...Will Die For You. At that point, the song took on new life for me, I found the Bonnie Tyler video on a German 80's dvd compilation, and all versions have been in heavy rotation on my ipod. Look for the Kiki & Herb video of the song (not a live version, but still great). This parody is pale in comparison.

A clever idea, but I agree, the vocals were lame....
Most of Bonnies videos were over the top, but they never went on to the same success as this big song.
You must check out this classic, If you were a woman and I was a man....
