While performing her hit song "7 Things" in Kentucky the other night, Miley Cyrus made a curious last-minute lyric swap. Instead of singing "The 7 things I hate about you / oh you you're vain / your games, you're insecure" as she usually does, the most famous 16-year-old in the world belted out "oh you you're vain / you're gay..."
Was it just an innocent slip of the tongue or does Miley need to get schooled by Hilary Duff? And more importantly, if she meant it, is she talking about Justin Gaston? Because we'd be happy to have him come over to the homo side.

Last month I found myself wandering the land of secret bank accounts, gourmet chocolate bars, and fine time pieces for a long weekend when EuroPride 2009 pulled into Zurich, Switzerland. Now I'm trying to finagle my way over the border into our fair northern neighbor, Canada, for one of the two upcoming Gay Pride celebrations taking place in the charming city of Montreal.
The first is the Divers/Cite festival which takes place July 26 to August 2. Divers/Cite used to be Montreal's Gay Pride celebration, but now it serves as a separate LGBT culture festival. Some of the events featured at this year's Divers/Cite include:
There is a stretch of 42nd Street between 7th and 8th Avenue scares the bejesus out of me. It's so densely packed with chain restaurants, souvenir stores, and massive clumps of tourists trying to decide whether they should first get a photo taken of themselves by a street vender who will then artfully photoshop them to look like slutty cowgirls or stop off for a basket of mozzarella sticks at TGIFriday's that I can rarely make it halfway down the block without a panic attack.
Still, there is one place among the madness that's worth the trip: Madame Tussauds. The New York outpost of the world famous wax museum lets visitors rub elbows with some of the most notable celebrities in the world. Not only are the statues incredibly realistic, but where else can you ogle Brad Pitt for minutes (or hours -- it's up to you) at a time without him fleeing on foot or having his bodyguard discreetly crush your man parts? The museum also offers the infamous American Idol stage where you can play Adam Lambert for a day and audition in front of Simon Cowell (only this time he can't make any wisecracks).
Now, to celebrate Gay Pride in the month of July, Madame Tussauds is featuring figures of beloved LGBT icons like Elton John, Billie Jean King, Lance Bass, and RuPaul (OK, OK -- not all of them are exactly "icons," but for the sake of celebrating Pride, let's just pretend, eh?). Before you head to the museum to check out the waxy gay celebs, get in the mood by playing the Madame Tussauds New York's Gay Pride Trivia Game online. Once you've boned up on your homo history, use reference code PRIDE5345 to receive a free adult admission to the museum when you buy one adult ticket (now through July 31).
Madame Tussauds is located at 234 West 42nd Street (b/w 7th and 8th Avenues) in New York City's Times Square. The museum is open from 10am - 10pm, Monday through Sunday. For more info and tickets, visit www.nycwax.com or call (800) 246 - 8872.
It's Thursday and you know what that means -- it's time to pump up the volume, get into the groove, get this party started, and so forth. Herewith, the top three albums any Pride party DJ should have in regular rotation. What would you add to the playlist?
Diana Ross Diana (1980) Disco was already in its final throes when Miss Ross joined forces with the Chic boys to record this early-’80s gem, yet the genre’s waning popularity didn’t stop Diana from becoming her best-selling album of all time. “Upside Down” may be Ross’s funkiest roof-raiser, but it’s the euphoric “I’m Coming Out” that reigns supreme as the obvious, undeniable gay anthem.
Pride week is many things...not least among them a much-deserved excuse to get girl-drink drunk! To assist in this endeavor, our friends at SKYY vodka sent over some recipes they concocted after extensive collaboration with such esteemed experts as Trannyshack founder Heklina, the inimitable Candis Cayne, and the legendary Lady Bunny. They'll be serving them up all over the city this week, including at Sunday's Dance on the Pier, but if you want to get things started at home, check out all the recipes after the jump.
And don't skimp on the umbrellas!
Lady Bunny’s Boy Chaser 1 ounce SKYY Infusions Grape 2 ounces Ginger Ale Stir into a rocks glass and add a squeezed lime wedge as a garnish.
If you've ever watched a pride parade float roll by featuring a bunch of underwear-clad dudes faux-sparring in an approximation of a boxing ring and thought to yourself "PFFFT! I could do that," well, this is your week. Finish your crunches and head over to the Diesel Castro store on Thursday night from 5-9 for "Casting & Cocktails" where you can audition for a coveted spot on Diesel's float for the San Francisco parade. (In the unlikely event that you don't make the cut, act like you were just there to get your intimates personalized by the professional airbrush artist that will be on hand... no one will be the wiser.) Break a leg!
