Of the pop culture motifs that defined 2008, there are two in particular that Batman, recessionistas, the iPhone, and "Change" had nothing on: vampires and lesbians. So what's left to look forward to in 2009? Well, for starters, the release of a cinematic feat of the British imagination entitled... wait for it... Lesbian Vampire Killers. With its ambiguous syntax and vague, meta-happy trailer it promises ... not too much.
We can't say with utmost certainty whether it's about killers of lesbian vampires (lame) or vampire killers who are lesbians (like Buffy in our wildest dreams) or killers who are lesbian vampires (yow!). Here's hoping (and suspecting) it's the latter, that it gets a speedy US release, and that it doesn't, er, suck.
